Be the Adult

Today your message is about allowing. Allowing sadness, anxiety, negative thinking -- all the things you want to deny or block out. By allowing those thoughts and feelings to have their say, by listening to that part of you that holds onto the negative, you are saying to the small child within, "Yes, I see you. Yes, I know you are in distress. I'm here and I will take care of you. Let's just see if we can find a way to feel better." Any child would respond to that message. "Snap out of it" just doesn't work and feels disrespectful. Listen to the child. Be the adult. In this way, the negative thoughts and feelings are as ephemeral as the wind, and will soon pass.
