There Is Great Joy In the Balance of Giving and Receiving

Allow yourself the pleasure of receiving love and service. Allow yourself the pleasure of loving and serving. There is great joy in the balance of giving and receiving. Those who allow themselves only to give wind up resentful and angry, or lonely and depressed. Many of them choose not to stay in physical incarnation very long. Those who allow themselves only to receive are living half a life. They wind up mystified as to why they are not happy. "I have everything I could possibly want? Why am I so depressed?" The answer is balance. Give when you are able. Ask for what you want, and accept the answer, yes or no, with equanimity.

Love One Another

Once again we are moved to speak of physical death. We know how hard it is to practice faith in the wake of the loss of a dear one. We remember the physical attachment to physical identity. Grieve. Get angry. Go numb. Whatever it is that happens for you during the aftermath of a death is completely normal and acceptable. However, do remind yourself as often as you can that you are so much more than your physical body, that the connections between you are enduring and eternal, that the spirit of your loved one is always with you, as your spirit is with them. Remember and honor them, and turn your eyes to the ones around you still. Love one another. Love one another. Love one another.

January seems to us an odd time for new beginnings. Why not springtime when your mother earth is renewing herself? Ah well, what does it matter anyway? Any time is perfect for a new beginning -- any year, any month, any day, any time of day or night. Choose your moment and declare a new beginning. You have the power, you and you alone. Choose your moment.
